Elisabeth López
Painter
Bio
Elisabeth Lopez was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1988. Her passion for art arises during a visit to The Escorial Museum in Madrid, when she was just 9. In 2011, Lopez obtained a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona as well as a Master’s Degree at Metafora School. She was drawn to the healing properties of art therapy; in particular, its effects on the elderly and children who have suffered from chronic diseases. Elisabeth took the first steps as a professional artist in 2017, when her paintings became part of a group exhibition in Rome. From that moment, Elizabeth started a tour showing her paintings around Spain. In 2018 Elizabeth decided to move to London. It was when she decided to broaden her horizons and to promote her pictures internationally through Milan, Venice, Paris, London, Barcelona, Madrid or New York City. Her paintings are an invitation to mystery. They all tell a story, but the story they tell will be different to every person who looks at them. In this way, the viewer is not a mere spectator but a fundamental part of the work itself. Her works are continuously transforming, much like the fantastical world of the subconscious is ever-evolving. The emphasis falls on the process, rather than the final result.
