Nicoletta Carella is a self-taught contemporary artist who has been creating art since her childhood. She was born in Mesagne (Italy) in 1976 and received a master degree in Pharmacy at “Università degli Studi di Bari” and another one in Foreign Languages at “Università del Salento”, working first as a pharmacist and then as a pharmaceutical representative, her current job. Initially, she was focused on portraits and drawings, inspired by artistic movements such as Realism and Italian Renaissance. Later, she was fascinated by the power of colour as a way to express emotions, so she started representing dynamic seascapes and landscapes, whose distinctive mark are the chromatic contrasts and the movement. Her scientific education generated a new field of research, that combines art with topics related to Medicine, where simple elements of nature and unreal objects describe, through strong colours, different medical themes.
