Weltschmerz, is a German word that can be translate into cosmic pain, or weariness of the world; It's a mood of weariness or sadness about life arising from the acute awareness of the existence of evil and suffering in the world that is not under our control. At the present day, is nearly impossible to remain unaffected by the sensory data we are bombarded with: we’re inundated with harsh realities (climate change and its consequences, wars, the economic crisis, the pandemic) through the images we see on our devices and social media channels. What’s worse is that we are often left with the feeling of being overwhelmed by what’s happening and a sense of powerlessness in the face of it.
