Description

This drawing represents my distaste toward the abuse of power within the realms of hierarchy, our justice and policing systems around the world. We regularly witness racial hatred, murder, rape and the falsely accused by no other than those who have sworn to protect us. This illustration visualises an end to such a seemingly eternal misery. The carnivorous giant, the Con-Troll, has been feeding on the people for too long. After many days and nights of war and sacrifice, we the people come together to restore democracy and peace to the land. The Con-Troll is lullabied by sweet music at the hands of talented musicians that reside by firelight in the caves below, whilst the remaining fearless villagers climb the throne to victory. The Con-Troll is finally chained to his seat and unknowingly awaits a long deserving trial. Peace and democracy are restored to the village once more. I often like to choose a person at random to give me 10 words so that I can create an image with my mind from their own tongue. These words can mean something to them or not at all, form a sentence or be 10 stand-alone words. I like the bond this creates between me and that person through the image itself. This image/idea began when a friend of mine called, Jon Emmitt, kindly provided me with the 10 words: “OH DEAR, SIR TERENCE TRENT D’ARBY, WHAT ON UTTER EARTH?!” ... Quite the challenge!
