Joanna Kucia is a UK-based Polish contemporary artist working across analog and digital collage,
mixed media, and textile intervention. Her practice explores the space between memory and
dream, materiality and intuition, past and present.
She creates layered, surreal compositions that merge architectural structures, vintage photography,
and organic, botanical elements. Working predominantly within a square format, Kucia constructs
visual environments where harmony and order coexist with subtle emotional tension. The square
functions as both a container and a threshold — a space in which balance confronts what remains
unresolved beneath the surface.
Her process combines digital precision with analog sensitivity, allowing fragments of everyday
reality to be reassembled into poetic, ambiguous narratives. In recent years, her practice has
expanded toward more tactile, hand-based gestures, including embroidery and textile elements,
deepening the relationship between image and touch.
Kucia’s works function as contemplative spaces rather than fixed narratives. Shaped by silence,
intuition, and subtle tension, they invite the viewer to pause, reflect, and construct personal
meanings. Literature, music, and fragments of remembered conversations inform her visual
language without becoming literal autobiography.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including presentations at MEAM in Barcelona, Times
Square in New York, Dubai, and galleries across Europe and the United States. She has been
certified as a Fine Artist by the Museum of the Americas and her work has been featured in
publications such as Photographize, Contemporary Celebrity Masters, Artists Today and
Tomorrow, and more.
Her art functions as a bridge between the past and the present, emotion and imagination. Each
work unfolds gradually, revealing forgotten stories layer by layer and inviting the viewer into a quiet
space of introspection. Kucia understands art as an experienced space rather than a closed image
