Growing Inward

2026

Info

Size: 60x60 cm

Technique: Digital collage on paper

This work reflects an inner process of rooting and transformation — a quiet, often invisible state that unfolds beneath the surface. The female figure, constructed from layered fragments of paper, appears suspended between memory and presence, as if emerging from accumulated traces of experience rather than a fixed identity. The roots extending from her head do not function as a literal reference to nature, but as a visual language of internal structures. They suggest thought, memory, and the unseen systems that shape one’s sense of self. Rather than illustrating growth in a conventional sense, they point to a process that is introspective, gradual, and often imperceptible.
The presence of flowers introduces a subtle shift within the composition. They do not dominate or resolve the image, but rather suggest continuity — a form of quiet emergence that coexists with fragility. Growth here is not presented as a visible transformation, but as something that develops inwardly, without spectacle.
The space in front of the figure, seemingly empty, can be understood as a form of internal light. It does not act as a physical source of illumination, but as a state of attention — a place of pause, awareness, and potential. The gaze directed toward this space reinforces the idea that the process depicted is not outward, but deeply internal. Through its layered textures and restrained palette, the work resists immediacy and instead invites a slower, more contemplative way of seeing. It does not seek to define a narrative, but to hold a condition — one of quiet alignment, where identity is not fixed, but continuously shaped from within.
