Sometimes My Mother Makes Me Feel Like An Alien

2021

Info

Title: Sometimes My Mother Makes Me Feel Like An Alien
Year: 9/6/21
Size: 18,8x14,2cm
Technique: multi-layered acrylic painting on canvas,

This is a second painting subconsciously influenced by the skeleton in the studio.
It evolved into an observation on Mother/Daughter relationships and unresolved ancient bag-gage. The Flower of Life design in the background reminds me that everything is normal. In the realm of human experience, mothers and daughters have been cycling irreconcilable dreams and visions through the ages, generation after generation, demanding to be heard and understood by the other with the volume turned up, and hands over their ears.
Currently Mom and I face the future together. We even share the same eye (but just one). More often we have been back to back, for we are not the same. Take a step back and pause to look from a distance. Once you see the alien (me), the other clues will fall into place.
