Description
Throughout centuries painters have been inspired by bucolic poetry of antiquity in paint-ing pastorals. Expressing the need of urban society for simplicity and harmony, these pic-tures focused on idealization of life on the country. Nowadays many things in the world seem to be unsure, frightening and complicated, hard to bare. Especially the uncertainty and insecureness of the last 1 ½ years, the loss of freedom and lightness of life, the loss of trust in people, media, even some friends, made me wonder. How could I find inner peace and inner freedom? Some help came from right around the corner of my house at a cow pasture of a farmer in my hometown near Otternbach („Ottercreek“). After spending hours at the pasture at a herd of mostly mother-cows, lots of calfs, one bull - the most peaceful and charming one to ‚his ladies‘ – I was fascinated by the attentive presence and peacefulness of these animals. I left them emotionally changed, somehow happier and calmer.
