Dualistic. (The other is «Soul»). Reflects mind and soul, good and evil, both implemented in human. Imbalance? Sometimes one takes over for the other. The introvert perspective: Your mind telling you that you can’t, so you have to convince it that you can. Inevitable struggle. Also, a probably common thing as adjusting the truth, to make something sound better, even though one knows it’s wrong. An even more universal perspective is War. When a country or a leader, keeps violating and killing people, even if it is morally disgusting and wrong (reprehensible?) and opposed of what the bible says, the inner moral compass is gone. Perverted actions. I was just reading about the incrimination of youngsters in the south of Sweden, neighbour country. They will be rewarded with respect and money if they kill a gang leader. One can wonder how these criminal minds work because of grown-ups recruiting young people. Perverted, yes absolutely. It was a period last autumn and again this year when I am out of work. I get kind of an existential crisis – or a panic attack, when I don’t know how to survive. Last year came Monster out of this ( as well as Soul). It’s like a head-crash, so it was an attempt to paint the inner mind or the inside of the body if you like. I am not that good with dialogue and communication, so I paint to express my mind, body, emotions and state. When I started, it just came out of itself. Luckily there are also good things happening in my life. Like now I have love, and a new really good artist friend. I hope that this also comes out like ’happy colours’, energic colours, romantic colours, etc. I will write a few words about my painting process in general below. I usually start with one or two colours and often stick to it/them. This is after priming colours, sometimes wrapping textile, the underlayers. If I use one colour, I can make ten variations of red. I will use grey and white. I always need to have cadmium red and ultramarine in the house. I am not sure if I can call myself a colorist, but maybe? Mostly I use new or old canvases (reuse), but art paper and wooden boards works too. Sometimes I make art with found objects, can be quite fun. I like acrylic because of quickly drying and dynamic painting processes. I try to paint with oil from time to time. Plans are to cooperate with another artist in hybrid-land of fashion, sculpture and painting. Exciting project too, our name will probably be «House of Sig&Ann». To be decided very soon, maybe later today. This is along with my own personal work, and my new job as fundraiser for blind and weak-sighted people, a heart-case/task. It took decades to say loud that I am an artist in flesh and blood. I learnt from (I read) Marina Abramovich; «You can’t be happy until you know who you are». So true.
