Description:
“It is not necessary to be a believer in order to admire the beauty of any ritual. Daniel has a custom right eye: it mixes yellow, blue, black, and has no pupil. Although my father did not put much stock in making up a story, I always knew that, through that eyeball, he en-joyed a parallel reality where he could find more beauty in less precious objects. I call that "Daniel’s eye." “Daniel’s eye” does not like taking photos of landscapes because of the postcard effect; nor people, because it’s not the point of its sight. However, what was originally to be a student photograph on the corner of Broadway and Wall Street - devoid of all grace - turned out to be interesting during the few seconds in which a pigeon (closer to the plague and the dirt than to peace) reduced the snobbery of the picture just by resting on the sign. Wonderful. This kind of coincidences feed my “Daniel’s eye” – which is just what I wanted to symbolize”.
