Original painting from the series „Breath Of Now“ inspired by the book of „New Earth“ by Eck-hart Tolle.
When you open the book “A New Earth” by Eckhart Tolle, the first paragraphs are about the beau-ty of flowers and how they impact us:
„Earth, 114 million years ago, one morning just after sunrise: The first flower ever to appear on the planet opens up to receive the rays of the sun. Prior to this momentous event that heralds an evolu-tionary trans-formation in the life of plants, the planet had already been covered in vegetation for mil-lions of years. The first flower probably did not survive for long, and flowers must have remained ra-re and isolated phenome-na, since conditions were most likely not yet favourable for a widespread flowering to occur. One day, however, a critical threshold was reached, and suddenly there would have been an explosion of color and scent all over the planet – if a perceiving consciousness had been there to witness it.“
When I'm stressed, I ask myself whether I'm still breathing, as Eckhart Tolle recommends in his books and lectures. After a few conscious breaths, my body relaxes, thoughts slow down and, in this state, I often feel a desire to paint.
I play through almost every possibility of applying paint to the canvas: shaking, dabbing, filling, dashed and much more. The result is the luminous abstraction, full of energy and silence at the same time, lights and charm which is the essence of my art.
