These paintings were inspired by my recent move to Romania. They represent new
beginnings, fresh possibilities; my experiments/responses to an unfamiliar natural
aesthetic. I was struck by the symbolism and fragile beauty of spring blossoms. Their
colours and strength were emblematic of rebirth and of an awakening, especially when
juxtaposed against the bleakness of the preceding winter.
