My name is Marija Constantinou, and I am Serbian born artist living in Cyprus. My interest in art started from very early age. I trained with several renowned Serbian artists in classic painting, drawing and stained glass, but found my true passion in abstract painting. I am a qualified nurse, but in 2008 decided to give it up, so I can pursue my art career. I enjoy discovering new techniques and ways to express myself. My work is expressive, dynamic and colourful, and is representing my thoughts and feelings during the painting and is greatly affected by the music I choose to listen during that process. Art for me is a way of life, it is a never-ending source of power that keeps me going... I worked with numerus interior designers and sold my work worldwide.

Artist statement
As an artist I try to bring color and joy to people around me. I would like to believe that my work will inspire passion for life. I paint memories, thoughts, music, everyday ups and downs, and really anything and everything that touches my soul. Standing in front of a blank canvas makes me feel excited and hopeful, makes me believe in second chances and new beginnings. Painting abstract gives me freedom to explore, to dive in the deepest parts of my soul and cre-ate everlasting expressions of the world around me…
