The woman is crucified. She has carried her cross as well as the many crosses of others. Her life as lover, wife, mother, sister, aunt has been one of sheer sacrifice.
She has been utterly selfless, putting others, and not just family, before herself. Her nature is one of giving. Of nurturing and of healing.
Red predominates as it is the color of desire, passion, blood, energy, the life force. It is also the color warn- ing us of dangers that may lie hidden, lurking and awaiting.
There is an aliveness in the act of sacrifice.
