"How do our perceptions respond when we stimulate a space, just as we press acupressure points on the human body?"
The artwork is conceptualised by this question.
A single piece of leather, covering a rhomboid wooden frame and coloured like a rusty copper plate, is debossed with an outline of a fork.
In the context of this artwork, the outline of a fork, deprived of its signifié and function as an everyday object, acts as a symbol of a spatial vector with magnitude and direction.
The patterns with dent and dynamics generated by the combination of these vectors produce infinitely propagating rhythms covering the space.
The scar patterns inherent to each piece of leather, revealed by the coloring process, add diversity to the visual textures of the artwork eroding the space.
With this installation, which visualizes the rhythmic stimulations to space, we attempt to demonstrate that artistic interventions on space can resonate with our perceptions and induce our physical sensations.
