‘’Art is imperfect and it is this imperfection that allows for us an escape’’

As a contemporary artist, I am known for my unique figurative paintings featuring fractured por-traits in this interconnecting language. Blending the imagery and techniques with aesthetics that echo Pablo Picasso, David Salle and Jean Michel Basquiat. I describe what I do as psychological abstraction/expressionism. I love to express human figures in a humorous and grotesque paint-ing style. My methods of creating art have adapted over time, testing different art movements often within a single canvas and evermore maturing in the arts but the one constant is this loony undercurrent that always finds its way into the picture. I became cognizant of how liberating and freeing art can be through learning the fundamentals only then to unlearn them, the way in which an image can be skewed was very refreshing to me, it caused me to continually challenge the creative process. Building upon my admiration of abstract expressionism and furthermore blending into the world of philosophy and literature, which ultimately tapped into this alterna-tive hodgepodge of hysterical mental states.
