Description
In the lockdown we were left one on one with ourselves and it could get intimidating. We acquired time to get to know ourselves, being freed from the distractions. This period allowed the artist to come to compromises between the desired and needed, and the piece "Hold Your Ground" is essentially an embodiment of the feeling of security and confidence, meant to be home decoration.
The piece is an interpretation of a garden gnome: gnomes are known as symbols of good luck. Originally, they were thought to provide protection, especially of buried treasure and minerals in the ground. Making connection to a person, the buried treasures could be seen as the valuable characteristics that define him or her.
