“Brain rot” is a recent expression used to indicate the mental decline due to the protracted exposure to futile online contents. The infinite scrolling of short and meaningless videos besot the user and cause mental tiredness, difficulty in concentration and a sense of powerlessness, void and dissatisfaction.
The continued exposure to rapid and nonsense and violent content make us numb and empty, unable to process what we see and to form an independent opinion. We are accostumed to violence and violations, so we are not able to feel compassion and to distinguish the right or wrong when it's in front of us.
