Parisienne Fruit

Title: Parisienne Fruit
Year: 2021
Size: 61cm x 91.4cm
Technique: Acrylic on Canvas

Parisienne Fruit reflects souvenir like remnants of past selves that have fallen away. This piece is about the choice to sacrifice vital earthly qualities and core parts of oneself. It raises the question of how much of life actually consists of the material, and the material’s role within life’s context. The dualism of beauty is reflected here, the painting showing earthly items reminiscent of beauty and refinement, while reality lies cold and separate outside of the art, reflecting the duality of refinement, beauty and alienation.
