I accomplished it; I created a painting using solely the colors I vowed to employ. With both arms crossed atop my head, I gazed at it upon completion, restraining myself from introducing a fifth hue. I am aware that a single dot of another pigment could enhance its appearance, yet it would torment my spirit to acknowledge that I failed my challenge. What you behold is a true reflection of my emotions when I am confined by color. I can hardly believe I triumphed; I can scarcely believe I achieved this; I can hardly believe it stands before me. I sense that colors have yet to discover me; I feel an urge for one more victory to unveil what lies ahead. I yearn for a grand canvas, one that offers a broader expanse to amplify the fire of my resolve against succumbing to defeat. Throughout the creation of this piece, I pondered, how many shades can I produce by mixing ultramarine, hot pink, black, and white?… This inquiry simmered in my thoughts, and now I must seek the answer on a larger canvas, hoping that afterward, colors will find me again…
