Géraldine takes us into her universe of colourful and luminous images. Her paintings is an invitation to travel and change of scenery. It allows us to escape to the treetops with one glance and fly away in an aerial world, alive and inspiring. Her paintings are a mixture of invented images associated with everyday images. Her desire is to tell what she sees, perceives and feels in life. Images inhabit her and she paints them.
In this painting is a little boy who hurried to go fishing to "be calm at last". At the top of his baobab tree, he decides, he is the king of the world. He has difficulty learning to read and write. And yet he does not suspect that fishing may be an indirect and unconscious way of assimilating all these letters.
