Different characters appear in "Life is a circus": exploiting the potentialities of digital techniques, they are all generated distorting, repeating, modifying, adapting and changing a prototype of a digitally-painted human face into something completely new. The idea is that of making masks and alter-egos of the same individual entity proliferate on the canvas into virtually all its possible degenerations, modifications, alterities. Life is a circus. With its lady dancer, the clown, the trapeze artist, the juggler and the tiger trainer. We all are one and multiple. And life is a kaleidoscope of self-expressions.

Simona Elia, is a contemporary Italian artist and poet. Her works originate from an intricate digital work, in
which the protagonists appear superimposed in a collage of images, where each face is mixed with others,
creating a totally captivating visual whirlwind. In the work 'Life is a circus', the artist wants to represent the
complexity of human individuality. Life itself is compared to a circus, a place where various characters and
artists perform. Each of them represents a different aspect of ourselves, our passions, emotions and abilities.
Through the use of digital techniques, the artist creates a visual universe that highlights the diversity and
plurality within each individual. This approach invites the viewer to reflect on their own identity and the
interconnection of its many parts. Simona Elia reminds us that we are all constantly evolving, able to
transform ourselves and explore infinite possibilities of self-expression.
