Title: Giant Strides Size: 18”x24” (45.72cm x 60.96cm) Technique: Acrylic and Oil on Canvas “Giant Strides” is a visual representation of striving for clarity through darkness. It’s a sister piece to a previous painting called the “Vision Pit.” Native Americans go through this ordeal to find out what their calling is. They go into a cave with just a blanket and a medicinal herb for 3 days. They begin to see visions of what the spirits need them to know. Alone in the darkness, there are great amounts of emotions and thoughts passing through a person’s mind and it’s in those moments when things become clear.
