Specimens of plants and slime molds living in symbiosis with minerals.
The world I create is inhabited by a variety of beautiful plants, but in fact, they are inspired by the plants we see on Earth. What if minerals carried within them seeds of plants or fungi? By absorbing the chemical composition of minerals, plants and fungi might grow in ways that mirror the colors and textures of those minerals.
I create plants from paper and fungi from resin, shaping them as if they were truly growing from stone. Through my skills and imagination, I strive to transform fantasy into reality.
Since childhood, I have loved plants, their mysterious shapes, vibrant colors, and the simple fact that they are living beings so different from myself. At the same time, I grew up loving films thanks to my parents, and I always dreamed of working in a field where imagination could take form. The world of my work emerges from the fusion of plants and fantasy.
Minerals, fragments of the Earth, and the plants that grow upon them are filled with energy. Each stone holds its own message, and plants also possess the power to comfort and heal. I seek to express these messages through fantasy, conveying their energy, beauty, and the strength of life.
My process begins with a dialogue with the mineral, allowing images to surface through that silent communication. Then, I take a mold from a plant and recreate it in paper, applying the mineral’s colors so that the paper plants appear almost real. When viewers encounter these sculptures, they may feel uncertain as to whether they are witnessing a dream or reality. I believe this sense of wonder is deeply connected to a dialogue with nature.
Through my work, I hope people can feel the Earth’s message, its beauty, its mystery, and its vitality.
I am grateful for all existence.
