Title: Maya Year: 2020 Medium: Acrylic on Canvas (If canvas is boxed: Depth of canvas frame: 4cm) Size: 60w x 75h cm Caption: Maya (meaning: ‘ Of water ’ ): Origin: John 1:1 – 5 In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. The Bride: Eph5:26 – 27 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. Titus: 3:4-7 He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing or rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Saviour, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. Green – symbolizes new life: Rom 6:4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
