This painting was inspired from a hike in Killarney Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada that looks out at the clean, aqua water of Georgian Bay.
There are beautiful windswept white pines on this trail, including the one that is in this painting. When I stood by this tree looking out into the bay, could feel the wind from the water, hear the white throat-ed sparrow songs and smell the distinctive intoxicating aroma of pine needles. It felt very spiritual to me. I try to capture the spirit of a place when I paint.
