Title: Still Life
Technique: Acrylic on canvas
After a day visit to the volcanic region and Timanfaya National Park and learning that a whole town had been destroyed by a volcano many years ago, I was intrigued with the landscape and the fact that it heals itself and new life can still emerge from the devastation. Of course, not much can grow in the volcanic soil apart from cacti and very cleverly positioned vines. This painting reflects this with the cacti growing in front of the volcanic backdrop.
