“This work of art has been created using acrylic paints. Hues of pink and purple can be seen dominating the canvas. The abstraction in this work encourages the observer to engage in a deep interaction of personal perception. It has taken the artist years to trust her gut and move beyond the concerns of how her art is percieved and what she thought people wanted. Fears about how an artwork is perceived often steers an artist to waver between their inner voice and aesthetic visual representation. Inability to trust one’s intuition at times and follow the free flow, often results in artist blocks, which is the biggest obstacle to artistic creation. From this work of art the artist is seen breaking free from these chains and creating a new language in the painting, of her own. She calls this work “Revolution” as she observes her style and art language going through a metamorphosis. Something seems to be changing, something new is starting to evolve. A radical change in her creative expression is observed indicating an act of “rebellion against oneself”.
