Bio
“Gayatri Ghorpade is a self-taught artist from INDIA who considers her journey as an artist as a “inner revelation”. Most of her works are inspired by her experiences, feelings and emotions, depicting creative self expression through various colours, patterns, movements, textures, flow and energy. Avoiding conscious thought and allowing a free flow of ideas, Gayatri paints on a creative impulse using her own organic forms and textured surfaces to create her art which is mainly abstract: in fact, the freedom that can be accessed through abstraction is liberating to her. With her art, the artist looks for forms and meaning within herself that would evoke the same emotion and feeling that she experienced during the actual act of painting itself, trying to include the viewer in this artistic process. At “INCUBO D’ARTISTA” exhibition hosted by M.A.D.S. Art Gallery Milan, Gayatri Ghorpade presents a vibrant work of art that is a symbol of change and rebellion pointed against oneself. In search for adequate means to express her emotional sensitiveness she has created this painting with non objective patterns breaking free from conscious thought. The abstraction in this work encourages the observer to engage in a deep interaction of personal perception.
ARTISTIC STAMENT:
“Abstraction has been a mainstay in my work. My creative process is abstract organic and impulsive. Colour is an innate part of my life. It completely defines who I AM”
