‘Expulsion’ is part of an ongoing project exploring the different narratives imposed on women by the Roman Catholic Church throughout history. This body of work aims to explore the personal connection and internalisation of these narratives and how they manifest on a sociological and personal level. ‘Expulsion’ is based on the Eve archetype and is exploring the vilification of women who are disobedient. This performance piece is a form of personal liberation from this narrative. ‘Expulsion’ is shot on a 50mm lens and is one of a series of ten photographs, that capture the performance.
