Bio

Creating art for people’s home is inspiring and exciting. I delight in thinking about how my creation will make a home better and imaging where it will be displayed.

I typically work with layering colors; the results being abstract explosions of color and texture, often giving the tactile impression of leather. Letting people touch my art gives them a connection! I enjoy creating many different types of paintings ranging from layered mixed media abstracts to a 1920s scene.

Connecting with other artists in Chattanooga and Nashville, TN has led me to develop new skills and techniques. I have exhibited in numerous juried shows and won multiple awards. My works have been exhibited extensively in Kentucky, as well as in Tennessee and New York, across the USA and in Germany. My work is available at 440 Main, and at my studio - Pushin Building Artist Studios, both in Bowling Green, Kentucky, USA and on my website. I co-manage studio space I share with seven other artists in downtown Bowling Green, Kentucky.

“What I like about creating a painting is that I start with a blank canvas and I alone get to interpret my ideas, visions, and dreams by letting the paint and textures direct me. They lead me where they want to go. I am excited with the end result. To me, this is my ultimate passion. It brings deep joy to my life.”
