Description

As an artist I have often been drawn to visualising my deep fear of the sea. An overwhelming world of beauty and uncertainty that does not forgive if you happen overboard. In my 20’s I experimented with psychedelics which brought on a series of invasive and irrational thoughts and dreams. Bath time in hot cloudy water after smoking a joint almost had me believing that at any moment reality might tear and have me projecting to the ceiling in the mouth of a Great White Shark. The jack-in-a-box propulsion, a mockery to the delusional mind of a fully grown man simply trying to take a bath. This image is part of a series called ‘The Quiver’s Motel’, an other worldly multidimensional motel owned by the mysterious and yet to be seen landlord, Mr Motel Quivers. Many of the motel’s twisting corridors and liminal spaces can be found on my Instagram page.
