Bio

Guido Sancilio is an Italian dance, fashion and advertising photographer. Graduated in Communication Science in 2001, in the same year he started his adventure with the photography. From fashion to advertising he realized campaigns for some of the most important Italian companies, like Telecom, Poste Italiane, Alitalia, Air One, IperCoop, Onyx and for the Ministry for Foreign Affairs too. He also realized exhibition and photo reportage in Europa (Amsterdam, Dublin, Lisbon, Paris, Vienna, Barcelona, Praha, Minsk), Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Ghana, Capoverde, Madagascar and Tanzania), Asia (Thailand), Latin America (Brazil, Bolivia, Cuba and Mexico) and Haiti, after the earthquake in 2010. The common thread of all Guido’s work is the strong emotional impact of his prints; images which tell stories of distant worlds. All Guido’s work is characterised by a sensitive and uncritical eye. Indeed, it is left to us, the viewers, to understand those eyes or gestures of loneliness or poverty, of joy or defiance, and, in so do-ing, move closer to these worlds. Thanks to a professional and human experience he’s kept in touch with the world of dance. He was in Minsk for work and by chance he met some kids living in an orphanage. He was really impressed by their conditions, so he decided to help them. Due to the kind cooperation of the National Academy Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Re-public of Belarus and the National Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation of Belarus he realized a calendar with both backstage photos and so he was able to raise money to help those kids. After more than 15 years spent between people, numerous backstage and theatres all over the world, in 2013 born likeG brand, property of him. He has selected some of his best pictures and they have become original, elegant and sophisticated products. He is the creative director of the brand, too.
