“Yume u tsu tsu” means “dream-reality”. “Dream-reality” refers to a state where one cannot determine whether something is a dream or reality. It is an extremely ambiguous state. In the Japan, there is little of the surrealist tendency to dichotomize dreams and
reality as Dali expressed. Rather, there has been a tendency since 1000 years ago to perceive dreams and reality as one unified thing. In Japan, many poems have existed since
ancient times depicting the question of whether one fell asleep while waiting for a loved one, or whether it was actually reality.
