“Some people have commented that Three Butterfies Squared is “Warhol-esque”. Maybe, but this image began when a rather unimpressive brown butterfly landed on the edge of my cocktail. I snapped a shot and I really liked the graphic nature of the insect . I experimented with different colors to make him more interesting, but it turned out I couldn’t decide… so I decide to use most of them. And, because the composition was a square, I injected a bit of math into the title.”
