I climb the light
Causing shadow-light patterns on the wall,
Climbing as if upon a ladder of infinite rung,

Please don’t steal this moment from me, I beg you.
Silently observe me,
Plucking the petals as I whisper,
“He loves me, he loves me not.”

Love my wonder,
Love my splendor
Of demons snaking through me;
And I turn to you from infinite rung
Breathing in amorous tongue,
It’s okay to be weak
And petals flung.
