Joakim Karlsson (born November 12, 1980), known professionally as Flagga, is a Swedish artist and designer. Inspired by the people and life around him, his stories take shape in colorful figurative portraits. Large paintings, whose bold simplicity and vivid colours make them stand out. The purpose of the paintings is always to arouse curiosity and give energy to their surroundings.

“As far back as I can remember, I have always been sketching and doodling these funny random and odd men. But it’s first in recent years when they have started taking place in my paintings. Sometimes they are me in the form of a feeling or state of mind that I can recognize myself in. Sometimes it’s a distant story from a friend that turns into a character.”
