There is a creature in the sea called a mermaid, who charms sailors with her beautiful singing voice and eats them back to her own body.
Their singing is somehow comforting, and they gently embrace us even when we are on the verge of death.
Demons lurking within their beautiful appearance.
What will we do when we face them?
Will they be led to death meekly?
Or will they devour it all and gain eternal life?
This artwork is the first step toward the creation of a work on the theme of the space between reality and unreality, including mermaid legends, yokai legends, and the artist’s own nightly memories of a dream world.
Art is a doorway for the viewer to jump from the everyday to the extraordinary.
The artist has a key role to open that door.
