Wendy Alber Wendy Alber is a Mauritian artist currently living in Germany. She is an expressionist artist and her primary medium used is acrylic. She applies colors directly on the canvas and does not mix them first on the palette. She enjoys themes such as landscapes, seascapes as well as human figures namely portrait. She can also be very sensitive and produce abstract works on small canvas mainly in the pursue to self-expression when she is overwhelmed. Coming to her professional career, she has been an art teacher for more than 20 years now and her journey as an artist really started in 2018 … . There was an urge for self-expression, a reconnection with her island, Mauritius and her culture and this has definitely contributed in her development as an artist. One of her statements “ When I ’ m immersed in my art, it is a way for me to discover myself and to feel simultaneously lost. At times, there is a need to dig deep, deep, deep inside … When I am in connection with my art, I let it go, let it flow, and let it blow out of my soul! It ’ s only then that what is deep inside comes to the outside! ”
