The final in this sequence showing a woman’s face overlapped by a flower is one where the surety of the image is lost behind misty layers. Any confidence in the face is being lost by the sub summation of that source image by the screens of interference. The flower still prevails in some respects and creates a poignant marker for the ways in which the essence of a person can sometimes hold strong in the face of societal structure that often override personal needs and nuances. The interference has an electric, juddering energy in its disruption of the picture plane.
