When starting this piece, I wasn’t too sure as to where I was going with it. I knew I wanted to make a mix media; 3D type piece. I started gluing random items I found around the house. We all the pieces we down, it felt like the bottom of a child’s toy box almost, so I started to paint a silhouette of a young boy on top of some of the items. I wasn’t content with that so I painted a rain coat on the silhouette. The reason for the skull face was to represent the end of childhood. Those small trinkets that we treasure as a child, lost and forgotten over time.
