Bio

Jessica D Perez Born in the United States, artist Jessica D Perez, born Schwartzwald moved to Europe in 1998 at the age of 14 with family. Jessica graduated in 2001 from Frankfurt International School (FIS) with IB Diploma, with a focus in Art. She earned a scholarship to Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore but fell on financial hardships. She returned to Germany and started a career with the U.S. Consulate. She learned German and lived as a local for a total of 10 years. During a divorce, she re-discovered her passion to pursue the arts and desire to raise a family. She returned to the U.S. and remarried, as well as gave birth to three children. Opportunity opened up for her and her family to move to Canada. For seven years she raised kids with her husband and started her art career in Ottawa and Montréal respectively. She has displayed her work in community arts events, art battle competitions, and has earned honorable mention in online awards. Her work is found on the walls of restaurants in Old Town Montreal and in the Ottawa University. Typically a landscape artist, Jessica found her circumstances changed after their families return to the United States one more time. The COViD 19 pandemic began shortly after returning and with the new challenges, she took on projects to draw and paint portraits of people in masks in order to honor them. Now based in New Hampshire, Jessica works full time from home at her art studio.
