Born in 1995 in Braila, Romani, LaPosto lives and works in Brussels since 2018. A traveller, not reckless and with a degree in tourism, her attraction for travel is translated on canvas by a play of traces and lines that run from edge to edge of a flat space. In large or small format, to en-counter the universe of LaPosto is to travel though a journey of colors and emotions - some-times vibrant, sometimes pastel… This self-taught artist explores different materials: acrylic, pastel, oil, sculpture, aerosol, coulures solutions. She develops her technique around the figura-tive and the abstract. In her works, memories and emotions of autobiographical events emerge. Like the paintings of expressionist artists, the canvases created by this artist exposes a personal language. These canvases show different contrasts: the dark and the dreamlike, the angular and the undulatory, the duality of the human and the duality of the human gender, introspection and exaltation. Sometimes bringing the figures that inspires her to the point of grotesqueness, LaPosto paints the faces of an iconic world that sometimes recalls the scenes of James Ensor.
