The Ancestral Wireless Connection collection seeks to reflect on forms of wireless communication and spiritual guidance connected to our ancestry, as a way of preserving the memory of our culture and absorbing fundamental knowledge for our growth. The collection is a singular concept that calls for the appreciation of the endogenous elements of Angolan culture, embracing cultural identity through roots and traditions that were ostracized during the long colonial period, where art functions as a wireless channel. In a moment marked by revisions of history and its painful memories, art becomes a gentle language that allows us to interpret and reinterpret, record and remember that communication, just as it exists today without wires, already existed long before the colonial period on a highly developed spiritual and physical level within Angolan society in particular, and African society in general. The works from the Ancestral Wireless Connection collection were produced in acrylic on paper printed from an official catalogue of FENACULT – National Festival of Culture, organized by the Ministry of Culture of Angola in 2014.
