Bio

Emily Collet, based in Columbus Ohio, was introduced to the beauty of art by her beloved and talented grandmother. From that point on, she fell in love with the ability to create anything, using it as a tool to express herself. She never intended to be an artist however after several different career paths, art ended up finding her. Today, Emily finds that painting brings her joy and she is beginning to explore other mediums, following in the footsteps of her grandmother who was an accomplished fabric artist.
Her style is expressive with a colorful palette, exploring new ways to push the boundaries of canvas paintings. Emily enjoys using color as a way of conveying emotion. She hopes to connect with others through her artwork and use it as a medium to start meaningful conversations.

It's okay to not be okay... we are all struggling in this modern day world. I want to strip away the social norm of pretending to be okay and hiding behind a mask to keep others from seeing the real you. Our emotions are valid. We have a reason to feel. It is how we connect. Through my ‘faces’ series I hope to express a wide range of emotions and represent the rapid change from one to another.
