Itsuha Yamamoto

Painter

Bio

2019 Born in Tokyo.
2020 A member of Mitsuha Yamaoku.
2021 A member of IAVA arts.

On June 26, 2021, Itsuha Yamamoto turned two years and four months old. Therefore, on behalf of Itsuha Yamamoto, her mother, Haruna Yamamoto, will be writing an art history essay.

Currently, Itsuha Yamamoto draws freely using a variety of art materials, including pens, crayons, oil pastels, pencils, and watercolors. When she draws a picture, she says, "I draw a picture!" and prepares the art materials and paper on her desk.
In her early works, she often drew with lines, but her brush strokes were very diverse. Sometimes bold, sometimes fierce, sometimes hard. Sometimes she draws small areas slowly and finely, and sometimes she slaps her pencil hard on the paper. Perhaps because she is a child, she succeeds in expressing her images directly on the drawing paper without any sense of artifice. In addition, there is a "line inflection" common to Brice Marden, Cy Twombly, Calligraphers, etc., and I often feel a high level of perfection in her drawings. Also, the composition and colors change depending on the emotion and mood of the moment, and many of her works are established as "paintings. Also, perhaps because they are not bound by convention, many of her works have an innovative feel.

Recently, many of her works are created by putting a generous amount of acrylic paint on paper, using brushes, and sometimes using her own hands and feet to paint with all her might. The work is completed when she says, "I am finished. In her early work, she sometimes worked with her parents, Haruna and Hiroki Yamamoto, but nowadays she often works alone on a single piece.
Some of her work, including joint works, can be found as the trio "Mitsuha Yamaoku" (Haruna, Hiroki, and Itsuha Yamamoto) and on her personal Instagram.
