My aesthetic is one of open-ended inquiry. I use current digital technologies as artist tools in order to explore new possibilities of creative experimentation. Explorations of this type often do not fit into conventional art establishment venues. Today’s media environment offer many outlets for expression that allow a more fluid identification with creative practice. My recent generative collaborations with artificial intelligence (AI) have given me a new appreciation for non-representation. The neural network of the AI is a pattern recognizer that morphs my aesthetic tendencies into new and novel forms. The results are both familiar and novel at the same time. My work is meant to subvert a representational interpretation and open a gap in thought to an intuition-based response: an image-before-thought. I am inspired by my intuitive experiences, which define my personal aesthetic.
