Jennifer Hardell
Painter
Bio
Jen Marie grew up around artists, and always considered herself creative. She has been painting consistently for about three years, and professionally for just under one year. Jen creates primarily with acrylic paints and charcoal, and considers herself an impressionists painter. She enjoys painting a myriad of subjects, but enjoys painting people the most.
Jen is a self described “non-judgementalist”. She left 20 years of devout religion in early 2020, and has not looked back. The juxtaposition between the religious self condemnation she lived in, and the freedom she experiences now of releasing judgment- of self, of circumstances, of others- greatly influences her work. In her pieces you will see the expression of the various notes of femininity. There is tenderness and gaping vulnerability, and in other moments striking grit & chaos- the risk longing, & the decisiveness of fortitude. These are all notes of womanhood she has been able to explore and celebrate since leaving dogma behind. The beauty of life is that it is spacious and available to all- and the beauty of art is that though it comes from the artists center, there is a space in the art where the viewer inserts their own story, thereby connecting with it. This is what makes art so moving. She hopes you find a connection to yourself and your story within her work.
