Jan Arksom

Painter

Bio

The Prague painter Jan Arksom started painting relatively recently, yet his work has already earned several accolades.
His abstract works are straightforward. They try to be as clear as possible and look for connections that are invisible at first glance. Arksom’s work is inspired primarily by the beauty of nature, the land-scape, or the human body. It is often based on reality, which it consistently abstracts. As he, himself says: <<Actually, you try to paint small things with a big brush. It does not work and that’s nice about it.>> He is most interested in achieving harmonious, though often unusual, combinations of acrylic paints. The color, which is often applied to canvases in dense layers, is the basis of the image. Each layer has its own specific place.
He has a clean style, where he practically does not mix colors with each other. And it is the rich colors, selection of motifs and specific handwriting that make his paintings clearly recognizable works.
