‘First Person’ is about the genesis of creation. Karl Marx says that the human condition is
that of the ‘Gattungswesen’. This means that humans are essentially beings of creation and
production. This defines their essence. ‘First Person’ explores this primordial sense of
creation. A ‘living being’ that manifests its personhood through the creation, manipulation
and extrapolation of its outside world. The first person continuously produces their world for
fear of losing it.
